Sky News Leaders Debate Thursday, 22nd April, from 8pm How to see it!
Wherever you live in the World, you can watch the British Prime Minister Mr Gordon Brown continue the longest theatrical death scene in history. The second of three television debates, which have turned the UK General Election upsidedown with the supposed underdog Nick Clegg putting in a barnstorming performance during the first set piece leaders debate on the terrestrial ITV channel (see our not too flattering earlier blogposts on the below-par technical presentation). Here Adam Boulton (who could double as the Beadle in Oliver Twist) the political editor for Sky will act as Moderator and on his blog, Adam has produced this comprehensive worldwide TV guide. Enjoy!
Over to Adam:-
Nick Clegg, Gordon Brown and David Cameron will face off on the Sky News Leaders Debate this Thursday, 22nd April, from 8pm until 9.30pm. UK time. You can see the debate live anywhere that you usually watch Sky News: Sky Digital Channel 501, Virgin Media Channel 602 and Freeview Channel 82 and online at skynews.com Live Video Streaming. Those upgrading to HD will be able to watch the debates in High Definition on Sky News HD (Sky Digital Channel 517), a taster of the full digital news service which we are launching soon. Nothing gets you closer.
BSKYB is also putting the Sky News debate on Sky 3, one of our main entertainment channels, which can be accessed from the first page of the EPG (Electronic Programme Guide). After the event the Debate will be on Sky Anytime. Unlike ITV which insisted on an exclusive live broadcast last week, the BBC and Sky News consider the Leaders' Debates to be a public service and will be making the events available live to other broadcasters around the world.
I understand that BBC News Channel and BBC Parliament will be carrying the debate and that BBC 2 will be running it in full after Newsnight. (BBC, ITV and Channel 4 could have put out the Sky debate live as a public service but have chosen not to. Sky News will carry the Third Leaders' Debate next week.)
Abroad the Leaders' Debate will be carried live on those channels where you normally see Sky News in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. Sky News Australia is broadcasting the debates live.
(Courtesy of Wikipedia, I list below the places where you can usually find Sky News.)
Sky News will have full wrap around preview and reaction coverage as well.
There should be nowhere to hide from this crucial showdown.
