|Grounded. Budget airline Cobalt Air ceases trading|
A low-cost Cypriot airline which serves UK airports with a programme of 23 flights, has ceased trading.
Cyprus’ ministry of transport advised stranded passengers to book a flight home on another airline and keep “all the evidence and receipts to be eligible for reimbursement”.
Passengers due to fly with Cobalt in the next seven days “will be informed with subsequent announcements for arrangements for their repatriation”, according to the statement.
Families in the UK basking in the rays of an extended summer, where it has at times been hotter than Cyprus, have put off making firm holiday recommendations and forward booking of holiday flights.
